Lisa Marshall

I have over 25 years’ experience in claims management with both insurance brokers and loss adjusters and at ABL Group I’m involved in providing technical assistance, negotiating and settling many of the largest claims within the office.

Part of my role also involves leading regular meetings with clients to provide analysis of claims statistics, identify trends and work with my colleagues in risk management to improve our clients' workplace health and safety.

Having a team of expert brokers with access to exclusive insurance products, an in-house claims management function and an integrated risk management team gives us a major competitive edge. So, I am constantly strategising how we can grow and add even more value to our clients.

My first role in insurance was an admin support job for an insurance broker. I was eighteen years old with a young baby at home, but I was obviously very keen to progress!

One day, sitting in a meeting with the broking team, I was handed a claims file and asked how I would handle it and that was it – my career in claims had begun!

I moved through several claims management roles with a variety of insurance firms before finally joining Willis Towers Watson. I swiftly progressed to Claims and Risk Manager before ABL Group acquired WTW’s Northern Ireland business in 2021. Since becoming part of the ABL Group family I’ve had the opportunity to bring all my experience to a new set of clients and joined the ABL Group Executive Team soon after the acquisition was finalised.

My role is a new one and bringing together the services of ABL Group and ABL Risk Solutions won’t be without its challenges, but challenges are something I thrive on.

Being at the start of this new era for ABL Group is exciting to me. We’re laying the foundations for our future success now and we’re the sort of organisation that doesn’t shy away from change when we believe it will make things better.

I live with my partner in Jordanstown, close to where I grew up and when I’m not at work you’ll likely bump into me in the gym or walking on the beach with our Cockapoo puppy, Copper. I love to travel, and I’m known for always having a trip planned – whether that’s a quick staycation on the North Coast or a long weekend eating tapas in Seville.
