New Employee Appointment- Michael Boyd, Executive Director
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Michael Boyd to the ABL Group. Michael has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and is sure to be a fantastic addition to TeamABL.
Michael began his career with Royal Insurance, as a graduate trainee, gaining exposure to all aspects of working for a composite insurer. Michael initially became an inspector, before spending several years as a risk management surveyor. Having worked for Royal Insurance for 8 years, he decided to move into broking and joined the Belfast office of AON as commercial manager, responsible for a team of corporate brokers.
Michael continued professional development gaining a NEBOSH qualification in health and safety. He then became an Account Executive, responsible for all aspects of clients’ insurance programmes.
Over the last 24 years as a broker Michael has worked with a wide range of clients, from smaller local firms to the largest Northern Ireland companies and multinational organisations. Michael has developed an ability to understand the diverse insurance requirements of each client, ensuring that all aspects are dealt with in a professional and skilled manner. Michael has been careful to maintain his technical knowledge and marry it to the ever-changing business environment.
Outside work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family. He has a keen interest in motorsport and rugby, has an eclectic taste in music and is an avid reader of crime novels.
